Amazon Villa

Privacy and exclusivity in the rainforest, with your own guide to lead walks and boat rides at times of your choosing, while staff including a chef look after your every need. A very personalised Amazon experience.

For an exclusive rainforest experience look no further than the Amazon Villa! What could be better than staying in your very own bungalow deep in the Tambopata National Reserve, with staff to look after you and a guide to conduct hikes, boat rides and canopy tours as and when you choose.

Achieve the perfect balance between activity and relaxation, enjoying secluded downtime in your lovely wood and thatch villa, complete with mod cons like electricity, satellite TV and Wi-Fi, and décor created by local Ese-Eja craftsmen.

Meals are cooked especially for you by the chef and you can choose between indoor and outdoor dining, with a spacious dining area and a lovely terrace. When it comes to relaxation you can luxuriate with a soak in the bathtub, laze in a hammock on the balcony and curl up with a book in the open-sided lounge. This is the ultimate, tailor-made, Amazon experience.

Times to Go

Amazon Villa is open all year. From May to October activities are unlikely to be disrupted by rain, but in the rainy season (November to April) there is greater activity at the macaw clay licks.

Luis the Llama likes this because…

“Amazon Villa is owned and operated by Rainforest Expeditions which, since its inception in 1991, has been a promoter of sustainable tourism in Peru. One of their lodges, Posada Amazonas, is co-managed by the local community of Infierno, the nearest settlement to Rainforest Expeditions’ lodges. Profits from a stay at any of their lodges benefit local communities and the environment. Many local people work in their lodges, and they have worked with their neighbours to get official protected status for the forests around Posada Amazonas, to offer handicrafts and other locally made goods at the lodges, and to incorporate activities that local people can benefit from such as visits to an ethnobotanical garden, a local farm, and cultural activities. Wired Amazon, a citizen science programme, conducts research into species in the rainforest and guests can join the Wired Amazon team to help research projects. “

And don’t forget … for every booking we take, Peru Specialists (which is part of Tribes Travel) plants trees in deforested areas of South America and Africa through The Travel Forest, and we also back The Tribes Foundation’s conservation and social projects.
