ModestAn economical, no frills option.
This elegant 1920s mansion hotel in the heart of Miraflores, the ‘new face’ of Lima’, has plenty of original architectural features, complemented by hand-crafted furniture and a fine collection of antiques and artwork. Enjoy Peruvian cuisine, take part in a regional cooking class and try over 20 flavours of infused Pisco.
This elegant house was built in 1923 and is now a comfortable 81-room hotel. It’s in a peaceful location in Miraflores, within easy distance of some of Lima’s best restaurants, shopping and the oceanfront boardwalk. Historic Lima is, of course, just a taxi ride away.
Inside the handsome building you’ll find lovely architectural details, with high ceilings, original tiled floors, woodwork and chandeliers. The artwork and antiques are perfectly in keeping with the building and the bedrooms are simply but comfortably furnished, with hand-crafted furniture and local art. Outside there are charming gardens to the front and a circular patio garden with a fountain in the middle of the hotel onto which the windows of many bedrooms open. Service is friendly and attentive.
The Kg restaurant specialises in Peruvian cuisine and you can learn how to cook this yourself, with the hotel’s cookery classes. The bar/lounge serves tapas appetisers and a choice of more than 20 different flavours of infused Pisco.
