Aranwa Pueblito Encantado del Colca

This welcoming, family-friendly, modern hotel is set in lush gardens at the foot of agricultural terracing by a bend in the Colca River and has magnificent Andean views. It’s a lovely base for exploring the region, with a spa, two swimming pools and a restaurant serving an elegant take on Peruvian Andean cuisine.

Aranwa Colca is in a superb setting, on a bend in the Colca River, surrounded by agricultural terracing and with fantastic views of the Andes and the Colca valley. At the entrance stands a charming old stone water mill, a contrast to the modern design and décor of the hotel itself. The relaxing grounds include two natural waterfalls, a trout farm and an organic vegetable garden. Aranwa Colca is perfectly located for enjoying all that this region has to offer. It is just a few miles from attractions such as La Calera hot springs and the craft market at Chivay, and only a mile from the village of Yanque, where traditional dance performances are given each day.

The décor is elegant and contemporary, with clean lines, tiled floors and a restrained use of colour. The El Molino restaurant has a chandelier made of ceramic hummingbirds, a tribute to the hummingbirds which frequent the gardens. Traditional and regional dishes are made from local and home-grown produce, or you can opt for a wood-fired pizza, while lighter meals are available in the Cabana Bar.

The UNNO Spa features a jacuzzi, individual and couples’ massage rooms and a Vichy shower. The hotel boasts two swimming pools – one outdoor, one indoor. The latter is solar-heated with wonderful views of the mountains and river.
