El MaPi

A good mid-range hotel in the town of Aguas Calientes, with a quirky modern vibe. With a café, bar and spa on site, and just a short way from the bus departure point to Machu Picchu citadel, this is a convenient and popular choice for an overnight stay.

Offering excellent value for money, this modern hotel in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo) is a popular option for visitors to the citadel of Machu Picchu, located just a few steps from the bus departure point. Rooms and suites have a contemporary feel and provide all you need for a comfortable stay.

The Cafetería serves buffet meals at breakfast and lunchtime, and an à la carte menu at dinner (2 sittings), and if you’re on the move you can get a packed meal of anything on the menu to take with you. The bar is a busy space offering tasty snacks and tapas as well as a selection of drinks and an extended ‘happy hour’. You can take your pick of the various guided tours (pay locally) to explore not only the lost city of the Incas but also the flora and fauna of the hotel’s gardens, where 18 different varieties of hummingbird have been identified.

On your return you can relax exhausted muscles with a massage, sauna or soak in the heated plunge pool at Spa del Bosque on the top floor with panoramic views of the forested mountains. The hotel markets itself as a functional, rather than luxurious, mid-range property, with good facilities and an excellent location.
