Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba
Urubamba province, in the Sacred Valley
Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba
A high-end hotel in a spectacular setting in the Sacred Valley operated by a well-respected Peruvian eco-tourism company. Join guided tours to explore the area, its history and culture, then enjoy relaxing, dining and indulging in spa treatments at the hotel.
Hacienda Urubamba is a modern hotel whose design is inspired by a traditional hacienda, with a large main house and individual casitas set in extensive grounds in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Extensive use of timber and other natural building materials, topped by red-tiled roofs, blend harmoniously with hand-made furniture and Andean textiles to create a timeless retreat at one with the surrounding mountains.
The hotel combines 21st century comforts with a glorious Andean setting, while its staff provide charming, attentive service. From here you can enjoy much of what the area has to offer on complimentary guided tours, from early morning birdwatching to star gazing, while more adventurous tours further afield are available at extra cost. Back at the hotel you dine on cuisine prepared with ingredients from the hotel’s organic farm, which you can visit to see how crops such as quinoa or the many-coloured corn are grown.
Take tea in the afternoon, sip a pisco sour or glass of wine in the bar at cocktail hour, all the while enjoying views of the valley and mountains through the picture windows. If you fancy an indulgent treat, head to Mayu Spa for a massage, hot stone treatment or some reflexology.
Treatments are all natural, derived from native medicinal herbs and are designed to relax tired muscles and aid restful sleep, preparing you for your next day’s adventure.
The hotel is owned by Inkaterra, a pioneer of eco-tourism in Peru and is one of National Geographic’s Unique Lodges of the World, a testament to its quality and ethos.

“The Inkaterra Asociación works on projects to protect the natural environment and communities. The association’s organic farm is intended to include an agricultural training centre for local farming communities, to showcase organic farming techniques and practical cultivation processes.”
