Posadas Del Inca Puno

What a location! Sitting on the shores of Lake Titicaca, this spacious modern hotel has spectacular views of the lake and the mountains. Enjoy a great buffet breakfast while taking in the glorious sunrise, then take a boat trip from the private pier and explore the islands.

This bright, light, 70-room hotel has a stunning waterfront setting by Lake Titicaca. Guinea pigs and alpacas amble round the grounds, there’s a lovely terrace for outdoor dining, an open fireplace in the lobby where you can relax on chilly evenings, plus a restaurant serving a great breakfast and a mix of Peruvian and international food all day long.

Rooms are comfortable and, as in the public areas, benefit from wonderful views. It’s a really nice place to stay, with the location being the most impressive feature. Huge windows in the Inkafe restaurant look out over the lake, and you can see amazing sunrises and sunsets from here. Or you can dine out on the terrace, getting even closer to those views.

Having its own private pier means that you are just a short walk from boats that take you out onto the lake and to the floating islands and Taquile, where you can buy the knitted hats and textiles the island is renowned for. It’s just a ten-minute drive to Puno, with its fine museum and folkloric traditions.

Oxygen services are available for those affected by the altitude and the hotel offers a range of massage services; just the thing after a day spent exploring the region.

Times to Go

You can visit all year-round, but it’s generally best to avoid the rainy season (November to April).

Luis the Llama likes this because…

“As a company Casa Andina invests in the local communities where they operate and also support Peru Champs, a non-profit organisation providing scholarships to children with high-potential from low-income families.”

And don’t forget … for every booking we take, Peru Specialists (which is part of Tribes Travel) plants trees in deforested areas of South America and Africa through The Travel Forest, and we also back The Tribes Foundation’s conservation and social projects.
