Reserva Amazónica

Easily accessed, Reserva Amazónica provides an insight into the habitats, scenery, plant and wildlife of the Amazon rainforest, as you explore on foot and by boat, returning to the lodge to relax with a spa treatment, tasty food and cocktail hour at the bar.

Inkaterra Reserva Amazónica offers an authentic rainforest experience and is relatively easy to reach, just a half hour flight and 45-minute boat ride from Cusco. During your stay you enjoy walking trails, canoe rides, wildlife watching, nocturnal jungle tours and canopy walks, with excursions ranging from a couple of hours to full day, all led by experienced guides.

You may not see as much wildlife as at other, more remote, lodges, but full-day birdwatching tours are available further afield for dedicated birders. For a real treat you can spend a night in the canopy treehouse, high above the forest floor, enjoying a private dinner before settling down to sleep surrounded by nature.

Back at the lodge you can relax with a soothing massage or purification treatment at ENA Spa, with a river sunset view, where natural, local ingredients are used. Lodge accommodation is in comfortable, screened, en-suite cabañas of varying sizes. Buffet breakfasts, à la carte lunches and dinners are served in the spacious dining room, with drinks available from the bar. There is no mobile phone signal or Wi-Fi access, you are truly immersed in the natural world at Reserva Amazónica.

Reserva Amazónica rooms

Reserva Amazónica has 35 cabañas, made up of 24 superior and 8 superior río rooms, 1 Amazónica suite and 2 Tambopata suites, all in the indigenous style of Ese-Eja wood and thatch construction. The suites are more spacious and have more privacy than the rooms, which are grouped together. If it is cold, staff will put a hot water bottle in your bed.

All room types are in wooden cabañas of 38 sq m, with thatched roofs and screened windows. The beds are fitted with canopy mosquito nets, there are 2 chairs and a table, and a bathroom with hot and cold running water, a walk-in shower, hand basin and flush toilet. Bedding, towels, organic toiletries, bathrobes and slippers are provided. There’s a siesta area with hammocks. Each room has a ceiling fan, power socket, kerosene lamps, torches and umbrellas.  The río rooms overlook the Madre de Dios River.

The Amazónica suite has similar amenities to the rooms but at 60 sq m provides greater space. The bedroom has either a king bed or 2 twins and storage space. The bathroom is larger than that of the rooms and has his and hers basins.

The Tambopata suite covers 78 sq m and has the same amenities as the Amazónica suite plus a shaded terrace with a sun loungers, an outdoor shower and a plunge pool. The bathroom is open to the sky.
